If a plant appearance needs to be modified after it is loaded (adjust anything about the plant graphically), it is a pretty quick to change make. There are two main ways to do this: using Edit Type (which is the “old school” or default way) or using the Manage Types tool.
To make this process even faster, reference the Planting Asset Gallery while making these changes:

Step-by-Step Guide: Use Manage Types
Using Manage Types to update the appearance of a plant is generally recommended over the “old school” method of using Edit Type. Manage Types gives live, graphical feedback for the Plan and Elevation, so you can understand the changes before they are applied.
Launch Manage Types
Find and select the plant type to modify
Open the Graphics panel
Modify any of the Graphics Parameters
Note: The Graphics parameters will vary slightly, depending on the Parent Plant.
Click Update Type to apply changes.
Important: be sure to click Update Type, before moving away and selecting other types. Any changes made in the dialog are not applied until clicking Update.
Helpful Tips:
When any of the Plans or Elevations are modified, the graphical preview will update to show you the corresponding graphic.
There are two settings to make adjusting Graphics a bit faster, see:
Note: When modifying Nested Types in Edit Type, it is important to only use the Types that are specifically designed for that parameter. So only select Plan Centers for PLAN_ CENTER, only select Elevations for ELEVATION, etc.
Click Apply to see the changes, and then OK to finish.
